Un domingo para descansar!

Today, we relaxed.  It was MUCH needed after two days of climbing Mayan ruins in the heat!  We had church at 9:00am so we left for the bus stop at about 8:20ish.  This time I took a picture of the church…here it is:

It's the building directly in the center of the picture.  Kinda funky-looking but super cool.  It has air conditioning and that’s all that matters to me!  Mother’s Day is celebrated on TUESDAY here instead of Sunday but the primary came into Relief Society to sing to the mothers.  It was so cute!!  Mexican children are the cutest in the world!  I wish I could have taken a video but I don’t think that would have been appropriate haha.

After church, we ate a huge lunch and relaxed for the rest of the day.  I took a 1.5 hour nap and uploaded a ton of pictures.  It was so nice to have time to just sit around and relax.  My shoulders, back, and chest are super burnt, I have a blister on the bottom of my foot, another on the top, I think I sprained a muscle in my other foot, I have this infected scrape on the palm of my hand, and I've got chaffing like nobody's business haha.  ;)  So yeah…today was definitely needed!  For lunch, we ate a red bean soup, chicken tacos, fruit, and agua de mango.

I noticed the fruit drinks are generally called “agua de [insert fruit].”  I had never heard that before the study abroad program because in classes, we’re taught “jugo” means juice.  I asked my mamá if there is difference between the two and basically she said that jugo is more concentrated.  One thing is for sure…she definitely knows how to make “refrescos!”  She makes this limonada that is phenomenal!  Contrary to what you may think, “limonada” is not lemonade.  It’s made with limes.  The names for lemons and limes are switched here.
Lima = lemon
Limón = lime

Mari and I watched some TV in the evening and it was super funny!  Mexican humor is waaaaaaaaaaay different than humor in the US.  The shows are super dramatic and the telenovelas are muy escalandosas, if you know what I mean.

Well, that pretty much sums up my day!  A picture of the entire group was taken at school last week and someone emailed it to me, so here we all are:
